It took a meeting with an old frame maker for his success story to begin to be written. “One day I met an old frame maker. At one point, he asked me: ‘Young man, how do you manage life?’ I replied: Hard. Do you want me to teach you how to make frames? It piqued my interest.
I abandoned any thought of a profession: white shirt, tie, office. He told me that if I went down this path, I would change my whole life. I was too young to understand the warning. Anyway, it didn’t seem like a threat.
It was love at first sight. I fell in love with frames from the very first moment I saw them, from the moment I stepped into his house, where I learned how to make them. He was old, he wanted to share the secrets of his craft with someone. He didn’t know if I was any good, but chance made him stumble upon fertile ground.
